Tigers fall short against the Warriors on Sophomore Day

TIGERS VS WARRIORS GAME ONE: 1-7

The Tigers were doing great in the first inning. They stopped the warriors runs on great defense. The Tigers could not get an offense going through most of the game. The Warriors started the scoring in the second inning after a player doubled, scoring one run. Fore grounded out, which helped the Tigers tie the game at one in the bottom of the third. In the top of the fourth, the Warriors broke up the tie when a player hit a solo home run to left field. Then an error by the tigers followed to extend the lead to 3-1. Herrington subbed in on mound to pitch for the Tigers. The starting pitcher surrendered five hits and three runs over six innings, striking out three and walking two. Winter started on the bump for the Warriors. The right-handed pitcher allowed three hits and one run over five innings, striking out three and walking three. Greg Fore led the Tigers with one run batted in. The lead off hitter went 1 of 4 on the day. Connor Timbs went 2 of 4 at the plate to lead the Tigers in hits. L Smith stole two bases. The Tigers turned two double plays in the game. The Warriors tallied nine hits in the game.

TIGERS VS WARRIORS GAME TWO: 5-11

The Warriors got on the board in the top of the second inning after a player long distance RBI in left field line, and a player grounded out, each scoring one run. The Tigers jumped into the lead in the bottom of the second when West singled, scoring two runs, and an error scored one run. A warrior player homered to right field, which helped the Warriors tie the game at three in the top of the third. The Tigers took the lead in the bottom of the third. Haas induced Baker to hit into a fielder's choice, but two runs scored, to give the Tigers the upper hand, 5-3.The Warriors flipped the game on its head in the top of the fifth, scoring six runs on four hits to take the lead, 9-5. The biggest blow in the inning was a double by a Warrior player that drove in two runs. Bridgewater began the game for the Tigers. The starting pitcher surrendered nine hits and eight runs over four innings, striking out two and walking two. Morrow started the game for the Warriors. The right-handed pitcher gave up five hits and four runs (three earned) over two innings, striking out one and walking three.Walker, Massey, Baker, Fore, and West each collected one hit for the Tigers. Baker and West each drove in two runs for the Tigers. The Tigers didn't commit a single error in the field. Walker had the most chances in the field with eight.
