Baseball sweeps Mississippi Delta in high-scoring doubleheader

Tigers claim back-to-back victories on the road

CLARKSDALE, Miss. – The Coahoma Community College baseball team showcased its
offensive firepower to sweep the Mississippi Delta Community College Trojans in a thrilling
doubleheader on Wednesday, March 25, in Moorhead, Mississippi. The Tigers took the opening
game 16-10, before finishing with a 10-3 win in the nightcap.

GAME ONE: COAHOMA 16, MISSISSIPPI DELTA 10 Trey Williams drove in four runs and
John Wyatt Massey launched a home run as Coahoma erased an early deficit with a 13-run
third inning and never looked back, defeating Mississippi Delta 16-10.

Massey, the Tigers' catcher, went deep with a towering two-run home run to right field that
sparked the massive third-inning rally. Williams added a 5-for-5 performance at the plate,
knocking in four runs with run-scoring hits in the first, third, and eighth innings to finish the day
as the team's most productive bat. The Tigers finished with 14 hits, five stolen bases, and
flawless defense.

Starting pitcher Bryson Ford earned the win, striking out 10 batters over 6 2/3 innings, while
Andrew Woods closed the game with scoreless relief.

GAME TWO: COAHOMA 10, MISSISSIPPI DELTA 3 Coahoma kept its foot on the gas,
scoring in each of the first three innings to build an early advantage and ultimately defeat
Mississippi Delta 10-3.

Massey remained Coahoma's most productive power threat, launching his second home run of
the day—a solo shot to right field in the sixth inning to extend the Tigers' lead. Williams,
Janerrick Isler, Kolby Baker, and Gregory Fore each collected two hits in a balanced offensive
attack, while Massey and Colyn West drove in two runs apiece.

Starting pitcher Conner Timbs earned the win, tossing seven innings with seven strikeouts while
allowing just three runs. Once again, Coahoma played clean, error-free baseball to secure the
victory.

"Really great day by our guys," said head baseball coach Austin Biggs. "We played the game
tough, and it paid off. Our starters, Bryson Ford and Conner Timbs, were really good today and
gave us a chance. Just have to continue to stack games like these".

Coahoma returns to Eddie C. Smith Sportsplex on Saturday, March 28, opening a doubleheader
against the Pearl River Wildcats. First pitch is set for 1:00 p.m..
