CLARKSDALE, Miss. — Pride is running high at Coahoma Community College as three standout student athletes have qualified for the NJCAA Outdoor Track and Field National Championships, set for May 15 to 17, 2025, in Hutchinson, Kansas. Representing the Tigers on the national stage will be Kielon Jones and Shacora Jurden in the triple jump, and Elijah White in the 100 meter dash.

This national qualification marks a major milestone for the Coahoma track and field program and reflects the dedication and progress the team has made under its current leadership. The trio will compete against the best athletes from across the country, bringing both their talent and the Tiger spirit to the championship meet.

"We're incredibly proud of these young athletes and what they've accomplished," said Head Coach Reggy Hankerson. "They've earned the right to compete at the highest level and now they get to represent not only our team but the entire Coahoma family on the national stage."

Assistant Head Coach Victor Montgomery echoed the excitement, adding, "This is what we work for all season. These three have shown tremendous heart and maturity. We are going to Kansas with one goal in mind to make our presence felt."

The entire Coahoma campus is rallying behind the Tigers with students, faculty, and staff showing their support through pep rallies, social media shoutouts, and encouraging messages. The energy on campus is electric as the school prepares to send off its champions.

Now all eyes turn to Hutchinson where three Tigers are ready to chase history and bring it home to the Delta.
