Coahoma Community College

Hankerson is a native of Coldwater, Mississippi, and is a 1987 graduate of Coldwater High School. While at CHS, he earned All-State and All-American status in track & field.

He went to college at Mississippi State University. As a Bulldog, he received All-SEC honors and earned a bachelor of science degree in exercise physiology.

Hankerson has been the head coach of CCC’s track and field program since it was re-established in 2014. During the 2017-18 season, eight members of the men’s track team competed in the NJCAA’s national track meet held in Hutchinson, Kansas.

Prior to arriving at CCC, Hankerson coached on the high school level at Coldwater High and at several schools in Desoto County where he developed All-State track athletes.

He and his wife Janell have been married for nearly 30 years. He is the proud father of four children and a grandfather to four.
