Box Score 2 NEW ALBANY — CCC Tiger Baseball improved to 6-0 on the season by sweeping a doubleheader Monday at Blue Mountain College vs. the BMC JV. The team took 2 last week in a twinbill in Paragould, AR vs. the Crowley's Ridge JV.
Latalo Newson once again starred for the Tigers in New Albany. The future Topper hit 2 home runs, including a grand slam, to power a 17-4 Game 1 win. Hunter Wilson also went deep for the Tigers. Wyatt Bailey picked up his first win of the season by allowing just 1 earned run over 3.1 innings. The contest lasted just 5 frames, and the Tigers racked up 15 hits.
CCC continued its hot swinging by toppling BMC 14-3 in Game 2, collecting a dozen hits once again in 5 innings. Marquellus Edgeston, Tanner White, Hayden Tapper and Hunter Wilson all enjoyed multi-hit days, and White picked up 3 RBIs. Chance Cotton picked up the win by throwing 3 innings, striking out 3 and allowing just 2 earned runs.
Having defeated the Crowley's Ridge JV Friday in Arkansas 17-7 and 19-0, the Tigers now stand at 6-0 on the season. The team has added a doubleheader tomorrow in Memphis vs. the Rhodes College JV. First pitch is slated for 1 pm.
