CCC Baseball takes to the road tomorrow (April 2) for a doubleheader at Hinds CC. The squad will look to rebound from doubleheader sweeps at MS Gulf Coast and vs. East Mississippi against the defending state champions, who will check in at 13-13 overall and 5-5 in conference play.

The tough week for the Coahoma squad has not been without its bright spots. The team took an early 2-0 lead at Gulf Coast in Game 1 last Friday and nearly overcame a 5-2 deficit before falling 5-4. The team led for more innings than it trailed in the doubleheader against East Tuesday before conceding 2 close games, 5-3 and 8-7.

Freshmen have stepped up in key places for the team over the last 7 days. Shortstop Landon Fullilove racked up 6 hits and 4 runs scored over the last 4 games, and Hayden Tapper racked up 6 hits and 3 RBI in the same span. The Tigers' 12 hits in the high-scoring Game 2 vs. East were their second highest total in conference play.

The team finishes the season with 5 road doubleheaders and 3 home doubleheaders. They will next play at the Eddie C. Smith Sportsplex at noon on April 13 when Holmes comes to town.
