Team swept in DHs in Decatur, Clarksdale

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 | Box Score 3

CLARKSDALE - CCC Baseball fell twice to Calhoun CC Sunday at the Eddie C. Smith Sportsplex, falling to 1-5 on the season. Calhoun shut the Tiger offense down twice, 9-0 and 6-0.

Carson Jones twirled a complete game for the visitors, limiting CCC to just 5 hits - one of them a double by Hayden Tapper - over 7 innings. Jacob Ritson would follow up Jones' spectacular performance with a solid start in Game 2 to help Calhoun to their 8th win of the year. The team has now won 7 in a row.

CCC also battled Calhoun on Thursday, falling 4-2 and 3-2 in Decatur, AL. Lowell Haney finished with 5 hits in the DH Thursday and Dustin Allen fired 6.1 innings of 3-run ball in the concluding game, but CCC dropped both contests of the twinbill.

The squad returns to action with a doubleheader at Williams Baptist on Thursday.
