CLARKSDALE, Miss. — The Coahoma Community College Tigers baseball team dropped a 7-1 and 11-5 Sophomore Day doubleheader to the East Central Community College Warriors on Saturday, April 11, 2026, in Clarksdale, Miss. In game one, the Tigers held the Warriors to a 1-1 tie into the third inning before yielding a 7-1 decision. Game two featured a 5-3 Tigers lead in the third inning before a late Warriors surge secured an 11-5 victory. In the opening game, the Tigers displayed steady defense in the first inning to keep the Warriors scoreless. After East Central took a 1-0 lead in the second,
Gregory Fore drove in a run on a groundout to tie the game. The Warriors broke the tie in the fourth with a solo home run and capitalized on a Tigers error.
Conner Timbs led Coahoma at the plate with two hits, while
Landon Smith stole two bases.
Ryne Herrington pitched in relief. The second matchup saw the Tigers battle back to take a 5-3 advantage in the third inning.
Colyn West drove in two runs with a single in the second, and
Kolby Baker reached on a fielder's choice to score two more in the third. However, East Central regained control with a six- run fifth inning.
Tanner Bridgewater started on the mound for Coahoma. The Tigers played a clean defensive game with zero errors, led by
Anderson Walker, who successfully handled eight chances in the field.
John Wyatt Massey also contributed with a hit for the Tigers.
The Tigers will return to action on Tuesday, April 14, hosting a doubleheader against East Mississippi Community College. First pitch is set for 1 p.m. at the Eddie C. Smith Sportsplex in Clarksdale, Miss.
