Coahoma Community College is proud to announce the addition of Joey Walden as the new Wide Receivers Coach for the Tigers football team. Walden has a wealth of experience, having played collegiate and professional football.
Walden, a 2014 graduate of Oxford High School, began his football career as a standout wide receiver for the Oxford High Chargers. His performance earned him a spot with the Ole Miss Rebels, where he initially played out of high school. However, seeking a larger role, Walden transferred to Belhaven University. There, he excelled, earning Pre-season All-American honors and All-Conference recognition.
After college, Walden had aspirations to play professionally in Canada. Unfortunately, the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic derailed those plans. However, with his agent's advice, Walden seized an opportunity to play in Europe, where the football season continued. Over the next four years, he made his mark on European football, playing for the Langfield Longhorns, and the Dusseldorf Panther, finishing his career with two seasons at the Berlin Adler.
Walden's extensive playing experience, both domestically and internationally, will undoubtedly contribute to the growth and success of the Tigers' wide receivers.
Coahoma Community College is excited to welcome Joey Walden to its coaching staff and looks forward to his impact on the field.
