CCC Baseball splits in series vs Southwest

In Game 1, There were runs aplenty on Saturday at Summit as Coahoma CC Tigers defeated SMCC. Bears 2024 16-14. Coahoma CC Tigers collected 13 hits, while SMCC Bears 2024 had 15.

Despite falling by six runs in the fifth inning, SMCC Bears 2024 tried to fight back. SMCC Bears 2024 closed the gap by scoring on a single, a fielder's choice, an error, a single, a single, a walk, a hit by pitch, and a walk.

Coahoma CC Tigers got on the board in the top of the third inning after Cade Gadman doubled, scoring three runs, and Aaron Holloway singled, scoring one run. Coahoma CC Tigers scored five runs on one hit in the top of the fifth inning. An error scored three runs, and Aiden Singley singled, scoring two runs.

Coahoma CC Tigers broke up the tie in the top of the tenth when Graydon Gullick tripled, scoring two runs. Then an error followed to extend the lead to 16-12. 

Garrick Smith began the game for Coahoma CC Tigers. The righty allowed five hits and four runs over four innings, striking out two and walking two. #30 started on the bump for SMCC Bears 2024. They surrendered six hits and five runs (three earned) over three and two-thirds innings, striking out five and walking two. Justin Hall, Andrew Paysinger, and Grayson Lee each appeared in relief for Coahoma CC Tigers.


Coahoma CC Tigers accumulated 13 hits in the game. Coahoma CC Tigers' Gullick made the most of their chances at the plate. The number nine hitter led the team with four hits in six at-bats. Kari Michaels, Singley, and Gadman each drove in three runs for Coahoma CC Tigers. Holloway and Jake Smith each collected multiple hits for Coahoma CC Tigers. Coahoma CC Tigers had patience at the plate, amassing nine walks for the game. Smith and Gadman led the team with three bases on balls each. Coahoma CC Tigers turned one triple play in the game. Coahoma CC Tigers turned one double play in the game.

In game 2, The Tigers would score two runs in the top of the second inning. The Bears would respond with two runs of their own. The Bears would ultimately prove too much for the Tigers as the Bears would pick up the win 9 to 2 over CCC. 

The Tigers look to finish the season strong with match-ups against Co-Lin and Holmes CC.
