The CCC baseball team fell short in Tuesday's two-game series at Itawamba.
In the opening game, the Tigers took a 1-0 lead in the top of the second inning when a sacrifice fly by
Jake Smith allowed
Jack Cartwright to score. While CCC scored first, it was ICC that won the matchup 11-1 in seven innings.
Itawamba led 2-0 in the second game after three innings of play. In the top of the fourth inning, an RBI single by
Aiden Singley scored
Donovan Shead. On the ensuing at bat, Cartwright scored off a passed ball.
Itawamba took a 3-2 lead in the bottom of the fourth inning. CCC countered in the top of the sixth inning when
Logan Muhleisen recorded a home run. Despite this, ICC won the game 4-3 in nine innings.
The Tigers are now 3-21 (0-8 MACCC) this season; Itawamba is 17-8 (5-3 MACCC).
Coahoma's next game will be played at Jones College on Saturday, March 25, beginning at 2:00 p.m.
