Coahoma baseball defeats MDCC, falls to EMCC on Tuesday

The CCC baseball team played against Mississippi Delta and East Mississippi on Tuesday, Feb. 21. Each matchup was played at EMCC.

In the opening game, which was against Mississippi Delta, the Tigers had an impressive performance. With a 1-0 lead in the top of the second inning with two outs and two runners on base; an RBI single by Cade Gadman allowed Garrett Smith to score.

On the ensuing at bat, a two-RBI double by Parker Harris scored Gadman and Kaden Wilson. The Tigers tallied three runs in the inning. Coahoma's offense continued to have success in the third inning, and the Maroon and White had a commanding 9-0 lead in the middle of the third inning.

MDCC would respond, but CCC scored at least one run in six of the seven innings. Coahoma never trailed, and the Tigers won the game 12-10 in seven innings.

Wilson and Bodie Agnew each recorded a team-leading three hits against MDCC, while Logan Muhleisen tallied a home run.

Coahoma's second matchup of the day was against East Mississippi, and EMCC won 10-0 in five innings.

Aiden Singley was CCC's starting pitcher in the opening game, while Tyler Cavenaugh started the second matchup of the day.

The Tigers are now 3-7 this season; MDCC is 2-7-1; EMCC is 6-4.

CCC is slated to host Southern Arkansas University Tech in Coahoma's next doubleheader, which is scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 25.
