Coahoma Community College has selected Austin Biggs as the Tigers' new head baseball coach.
He was a student assistant coach from 2013-16 at Mississippi College; a graduate assistant coach at Hinds Community College from 2016-17; an assistant coach at Southwest Mississippi Community College from 2017-21; and an assistant coach at Paul D. Camp Community College from 2021-22.
Biggs earned a Bachelor of Science Kinesiology degree in 2015 from Mississippi College. In 2017, he received a Masters of Science in Athletic Administration-Intercollegiate from MC.
CCC Athletic Director Reggy Hankerson is pleased with the hiring of Biggs.
"He's a baseball guy; a community guy; and somebody who we feel can take our baseball program to the next level," Hankerson said. "He realizes that Coahoma Community College is a prime location to build a quality baseball team."
Biggs is excited about being CCC's head baseball coach, and has a vision for the program's culture.
"We're Coahoma Community College, and that's what I intend to bring; a sense of community; a sense of we're all in this together," Biggs said.
He also focuses on developing his student-athletes both on and off the field.
"I'm a firm believer that the way you win ball games is to develop human beings," Biggs said. "I'm thankful and blessed to be able to mold minds and bring communities together."
