Box Score 2 The CCC baseball team played against Holmes Community College in a doubleheader on Wednesday, March 16. The games were played at USA Stadium in Millington, Tennessee. The Tigers were the home team in yesterday's matchups since the series was originally scheduled to be played at Coahoma.
In the first game, the Tigers trailed 3-1 in the middle of the third inning. In the bottom of the third inning, Coahoma had two outs and no runners on base. Despite this, the Tigers scored three runs throughout the remainder of the inning to take a 4-3 lead. CCC's first run of the third inning was scored when an RBI single from
Zales Lewis allowed
Josiah Rivera to score. On the ensuing at bat,
Erick Lopez hit a two-run home run.
Holmes re-gained the lead in the fifth inning by scoring four runs. After HCC tallied one run in the top of the sixth inning, the Tigers scored two runs in the bottom of the inning. Holmes went on to outscore CCC 6-0 en route to a 14-6 win for the Bulldogs in eight innings.
The second game was won by HCC 7-1 in seven innings. Coahoma's lone run of the matchup occured in the third inning. Holmes recorded one run in the first, fourth, and sixth innings to go along with four runs in the seventh.
CCC is now 2-8 (0-4 MACCC) this season; the Bulldogs are 6-10 (3-1 MACCC).
