It's homecoming week at Coahoma Community College, which means that much excitement is building for this week's CCC football game. The Tigers (2-1) face the Mississippi Delta Community College Trojans (2-1) on Saturday, Sept. 25, at 2:00 p.m.

Coahoma head coach Travis Macon is encouraging fans to come watch the game at James E. Miller Stadium this weekend. "I think it's a big game," Macon said. "I think everybody should come out. These guys are playing hard, and they want to show you that this is a different Coahoma football team and this is a special season. So, we want all y'all to come out. We need y'all to make noise. I want that stadium rocking."

Prior to becoming the head coach of the Tigers, Macon coached at Northwest Mississippi Community College. While he was with the Rangers, they once played at CCC on homecoming. It's an experience that Macon remembers well. Due to heavy traffic on campus that day, Northwest was met with a rather lengthy delay. "It took us about an hour just to get to the stadium," Macon said.

While Macon knows what to expect, he thinks that some of his players might be surprised on game day. "They're excited, but a lot of these kids are not from around here, so they really don't know about the homecoming at Coahoma," Macon said. "I think it's gonna be a big eye opener come Saturday morning when they see all the fans start showing up. But, they're getting ready. They're locked in."

As for Saturday's game, CCC is focusing on playing fundamentally-sound football against a talented MDCC team. The Trojans are a well-rounded team with a dual-threat quarterback that can make explosive plays.

Tickets will be sold at the stadium's entrance gate prior to the game. Attendees are asked to follow COVID-19 protocols. Masks are required to be worn at all times with the exception of eating and drinking. The matchup will also be broadcasted live at www.coahomasports.com/watch and on the college's radio station WCQC 91.3 FM.
