CLARKSDALE, Miss. — The Coahoma Community College football team travels to face East Central Community College in a critical week three matchup on Thursday, Sept. 10, in Decatur, Miss., as the Tigers search for their first victory of the 2026 season.
Coahoma (0-2) enters the contest looking to build upon the resilient rushing attack and defensive flashes shown during a hard-fought 27-14 home loss to Jones College last week. The Tigers accumulated 154 rushing yards against the Bobcats, led by quarterback Jacob Clopton, who tallied 59 yards and a touchdown on 12 carries. Running backs Issac Day and Prentavis Madison consistently moved the chains, adding 50 and 45 rushing yards, respectively.
Defensively, the Tigers look to replicate the disruptive energy that resulted in eight tackles for a loss against Jones College. Linebacker Gregory Green anchors the unit after a dominant 10-tackle performance featuring three tackles for a loss. The secondary will lean on defensive back Deshun Brooks, who recorded a thrilling 36-yard interception return for a touchdown in week two.
East Central Community College (1-1) arrives highly motivated following a narrow 34-31 defeat to Itawamba Community College, where a game-winning 22-yard field goal was converted as time expired. The Warriors' offense generated 356 total yards in the loss, heavily featuring dual-threat quarterback Christian Langford. Langford completed 13 of 22 passes for 150 yards and paced the ground game with 72 rushing yards, including a 54-yard touchdown.
The Coahoma secondary will be tested by East Central's top receiving targets, Dawson Simmons and Brennan Gibson, who secured 74 and 67 receiving yards last week, respectively. On the defensive side of the ball, the Warriors are led by Jalen Anderson, Reuben Bilbrew, and Radarron Leech II, who all registered seven tackles in their recent outing.
Tiger Nation is encouraged to make the road trip to Decatur to support the team as they look to secure a crucial conference win.
