Box Score ​DECATUR, Miss. — The Coahoma Community College football team dropped a hard-fought 24-19 decision to East Central Community College on Thursday, Sept. 10, during a 7 p.m. matchup in Decatur. Â
​Coahoma generated 319 yards of total offense to East Central's 305 and mounted a spirited fourth-quarter rally, scoring five straight points to pull within five before running out of time. The loss moves the Tigers to 0-3 on the season, while the Warriors improve to 2-1. Â

​East Central established an early 10-0 advantage in the first quarter behind an 18-yard touchdown pass from Christian Langford to Duke McDougle and a 27-yard field goal by Hayden McMinn. Coahoma answered early in the second quarter when
Issac Day powered through the defensive line for a 13-yard touchdown run.
Andrew Harrison converted the extra point to trim the deficit to 10-7. Â

​The Warriors regained momentum before halftime on a 68-yard touchdown pass from King White to Waymond Jenerette Jr., extending their lead to 17-7. Day struck again for Coahoma midway through the third quarter, finishing off a drive with a nine-yard touchdown run to cut the margin to 17-14. Â

​After East Central extended its cushion to 24-14 early in the fourth quarter on another touchdown connection between White and Jenerette, the Tigers continued to apply pressure. Coahoma assembled a 14-play, 73-yard drive that resulted in a 28-yard field goal by Harrison with 7:09 remaining. Less than two minutes later, the Tiger defense forced a team safety to pull within 24-19, but East Central managed to protect its lead down the stretch. Â

- ​Issac Day paced the ground game with two rushing touchdowns, finishing with 58 yards on 17 carries. Â
- ​Jacob Clopton completed 17 of 30 passes for 179 yards while adding 49 rushing yards on 14 carries. Â
- ​Jaden Moses led all receivers with seven receptions for 126 yards, including a 33-yard catch. Â
- ​Demarcus Brown caught four passes for 30 yards, while Anthony Thurman contributed three catches for 16 yards. Â
- ​The Coahoma defense recorded three sacks for 24 yards and seven tackles for loss for 44 yards. Â
- ​Josh Gale anchored the pass rush with two sacks and two tackles for loss. Â
- ​Derrion Gould recorded one sack and two tackles for loss. Â
- ​Ardavius Harris and Arlanders Stovall tied for the team lead with five total tackles each. Â

​Coahoma returns to action on Thursday, Sept. 17, traveling to Goodman, Miss., to face Holmes Community College.
