The Tigers fall 64-60 at SMCC

Box Score The CCC men's basketball team entered yesterday's matchup off a 77-71 home win over Northwest Mississippi. On Monday night, the Tigers played at Southwest Mississippi.

Coahoma scored 22 points in the opening half as Kei Johnson and Jaqai Murray each tallied six points, while Amarion Hoggan, Ben Galmore, and Jo Perez combined to record 10. The Tigers trailed 23-22 at halftime.
CCC was a productive 14-of-18 at the free throw line in the second half. Kei Johnson tallied nine points in the half, which led the team. Guard Dontae Prescott recorded eight points off two made field goals, while going 4-of-5 at the line.

Hoggan was 5-of-6 at the free throw line in the second half, while also registering one made field goal to score seven points in the half. Jo Perez tallied two 3-pointers, while Korea McKay II, O'zhell Jackson, and Raeshun McGregory also scored for Coahoma.

CCC scored 38 points in the second half, but Southwest won the game 64-60. Johnson led Coahoma in scoring with 15 points, while Hoggan and Perez each scored in double figures with 10 points.
The Tigers are now 10-7 (3-4 MACCC) this season; SMCC is now 11-9 (4-4 MACCC).

Coahoma's next game is slated for Thursday, Feb. 2, against Copiah-Lincoln. That matchup will begin at 6:00 p.m.
