Tigers Sweep Phillips Ridge Runners in a Night of Big Wins

Special shoutout to our Veterans and Active Service Members durning this month.

It was an unforgettable night of basketball as both the Tigers and Lady Tigers of Coahoma
Community College delivered impressive home court victories over the visiting Phillips CC Ridge
Runners. The gmy was packed and alive with energy, cheers, drums, and chants echoing through
the stands as Tiger Nation rallied behind them squads.

The Lady Tigers faced early adversity, struggling to find their rhythm in the first half. The Lady
Ridge Runners, with a former Tiger standout, came out swinging with sharp shooting and
relentless pressure. But the Lady Tigers refused to back down. With tough defense, crisp passing,
and relentless hustle, they clawed their way back into contention.

In the final minutes, the tension was electric. Every possession mattered. With the score tied and
the crowd on its feet, Hannah Johnson sank a clutch two-point jumper in the closing seconds,
sealing a 65 to 63 victory. The gym erupted as teammates rushed the court in an emotional
win that showcased the Lady Tigers' grit, chemistry, and championship mindset.

Riding that wave of excitement, the Men's Tigers took the floor determined to make their own
statement and they did just that. From tip-off, Coahoma dictated the pace, using explosive
offense, tight defense, and superior ball movement to overwhelm Phillips. The Tigers turned
steals into fast breaks, crashed the boards with authority, and never let up.

By halftime, they had built a commanding lead, and they kept their foot on the gas all the way to
an 86 to 58 victory. Multiple players contributed on both ends of the court, highlighting the team's
depth, discipline, and unselfish play.

It was truly a proud night for Tiger basketball two hard-fought wins, a roaring crowd, and
a shared spirit that could be felt in every corner of the gym.

The Tigers are on the prowl this season, the women stand at 4-0, and the men at 3-0. Each team
is fearless, focused, and ready for more!
