Scooba, MS – The Coahoma Tigers delivered a strong all-around performance Monday night, securing a hard-fought 71-60 road victory over East Mississippi Community College. From the opening tip, the Tigers controlled the tempo, combining efficient scoring with relentless defense to claim an impressive win.

Coahoma wasted no time making its presence felt, jumping out to a commanding 39-21 lead by halftime. Their offensive execution was sharp, shooting an impressive 56.5% from the field and 50% from three-point range. Crisp ball movement and unselfish play resulted in 20 assists on 26 made field goals, keeping East Mississippi scrambling on defense. On the other end, the Tigers made every possession a challenge, holding their opponents to just 35.9% shooting from the floor and 23.1% from beyond the arc.
Louzavious Thomas led the charge with a dominant performance, posting a game-high 24 points and 14 rebounds on an efficient 10-of-14 shooting. His presence in the paint created second-chance opportunities while also limiting East Mississippi's ability to respond on the boards. Seck Zongo was a key playmaker, finishing with 10 points, 6 rebounds, and 5 assists, while Jaidyn Rankins and Jonathan Noudjihidi combined for 16 points to keep the Tigers' offensive rhythm flowing. RiCarvis Waters also played a vital role, contributing 6 assists and a steal while applying pressure on the defensive end.
East Mississippi battled back in the second half, outscoring Coahoma 39-32, but the Tigers never wavered. Key defensive stops and clutch plays in the closing minutes kept the lead intact, and timely free throws sealed the victory. Despite committing 19 turnovers, Coahoma's superior shooting, rebounding, and teamwork proved to be the difference. The Tigers also won the battle on the glass 31-30 and nearly doubled their opponent's assist total, 20-11, further showcasing their chemistry and ball movement.
