The 2021 football season is finally here for Coahoma Community College. The Tigers host the Hinds Community College Eagles tonight with kickoff at James E. Miller Stadium scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
Despite only winning one total game during the 2018 and 2019 seasons, CCC went 3-2 last season in head coach
Travis Macon's first year at Coahoma.
With nine games on the regular season schedule this year, the Tigers are ready to prove that CCC football is not what it used to be. "I think these guys are ready to prove to the world that this is the new Coahoma," Macon said last week. Tonight's game against a team of Hinds' caliber is certainly a great opportunity for the program to begin that mission in 2021.
The matchup against HCC is also a special one for Macon, who has a close relationship with members of the Eagles' coaching staff.
"Coach [Larry] Williams is the head coach at Hinds and he's always been like a big brother to me," Macon said. "So, I'm looking forward to this game. I'm excited about it. He's got a really good coaching staff. I'm friends with a lot of them."
Coahoma's first home game of the season will certainly be an exciting one for Tiger fans. It's football time once again, and excitement around the CCC program is building.
Tickets can be purchased prior to the game at the James E. Miller Stadium ticket window. Attendees are asked to follow COVID-19 protocols. Masks are required to be worn at all times with the exception of eating and drinking.
Tonight's matchup will also be broadcasted live at
