The No. 15 Coahoma Community College Tigers 4-2 (3-1 North) travels to Scooba, Mississippi on Thursday to face the No. 5 East Mississippi Community College Lions 6-0 (4-0 North).

The matchup features two ranked teams that are toward the top of the MACCC North standings. CCC is 3-1 in away games under head coach Travis Macon with a 2-0 record in such games this season.

Coahoma enters this week's matchup having won three of its past four games, and is still vying for a spot in the playoffs. The Tigers have had an exciting season with victories over Hinds, Itawamba, Mississippi Delta, and Holmes. With three more games remaining in the regular season, CCC has an opportunity to continue to establish the program's positive trajectory.

As for this week's opponent, Coahoma offensive coordinator Emmanuel McCray described EMCC as a "talented team" that plays hard. The undefeated Lions certainly pose a tough challenge as they are averaging 42 points per game this season, while allowing 11 points per game.

"We have a competitive team; so, I think they get excited for any opportunity to compete versus quality opponents," McCray said. "It's been a pretty good week of practice."

McCray said that eliminating the big play(s) for the opponent, minimizing CCC penalties, and playing discipline football are keys to success for the Tigers. The Coahoma coaches have placed an emphasis on fundamental elements of football like the ones mentioned above throughout seemingly the entire season.

The game is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m. The matchup will broadcast live at www.coahomasports.com/watch and on the college's radio station WCQC 91.3 FM.
