Box Score CLARKSDALE- Coahoma was looking for their first victory of the season at home. Meridian has been having ups and downs all season long. Both teams were looking to finish the 2018 season on a good note. The Eagles scored double-digit runs in a 10-0 and 18-7 victory Friday afternoon at Eddie C. Smith Sportsplex.
In the 1st game, Coahoma watched the game slip away early and couldn't recover in a 10-0 loss.
Meridian (11-22, 9-15 MACJC) took an early 3-0 lead. Chandler Moore got things going with an RBI double.
Coahoma made a lot of mistakes with eight errors which led to four runs for Meridian.
The Eagles put the game away with a 2-RBI single by Miracle Crosby extending the lead to 7-0.
Moore led Meridian with three hits in five at-bats. Meridian stole 15 bases during the game as four players stole more than one. Crosby led the way with five.
Kaitlyn Parrish led things off on the hill for Meridian. She surrendered zero runs on three hits over six innings, striking out five and walking one.
Mekayla Hubbard toed the rubber for Coahoma. She went seven innings, allowing ten runs on six hits and striking out one.

In the 2nd game, Both pitching staffs had their hands full in a high-scoring affair where Meridian outscored Coahoma in an 18-7 victory.
The Tigers struggled to put runs on the board and had a tough time defensively containing Meridian, giving up 18 runs.
The Eagles had an early 2-0 lead. Then they lit up the scoreboard for 11 runs in the third inning. Meridian's big inning was driven by an error on a ball put in play by Aahliya Jones, Elexis Brice, and Jayla Poindexter, RBI doubles by Chandler Moore, Michaela Banks, and Moore, a walk by Tiana Boutte, a RBI single by Keirra Fair, and a groundout by Reagan Autmon.
Coahoma put up four runs in the third inning. The offensive came from an RBI single by ShaTerika Bernard, a groundout by Witherspoon, and a 2-RBI double by Hubbard.
The Tigers scored three more runs in the fourth inning. Sanders steps up with a 2-RBI triple. Witherspoon came through again with an RBI single.
Meridian totaled 11 hits. Moore and Banks each racked up multiple hits. Moore went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead the Eagles in hits.
Boutte led things off on the rubber for Meridian. She went three and a third innings, allowing zero runs on one hit, striking out five and walking one.
Hubbard toed the rubber for Coahoma. She allowed nine hits and 13 runs over five innings, striking out four and walking one.
Sanders led the Tigers with two hits in three at-bats.
The Tigers go to (0-26, 0-24 MACJC) on the season.
