CLARKSDALE- It has been a long and hard season for the Coahoma Tigers. Coahoma Head Coach
Steven Miller credits his team for continuing to work hard on and off the field. The Tigers are hoping the hard work will pay off on their "Sophomore Night" against Holmes on Thursday night.
Coahoma (0-8, 0-5 MACJC North) is coming off of a 47-0 loss to East Mississippi. They had 128 yards of total offense including 102 rushing yards and 26 passing yards.
Jaylin Jones led the Tigers with 27 carries for 121 yards.
Tony Bowman, Jo'Mon O'Neal, and Will Robinson led the Tigers' defense with eight tackles.
Holmes (4-4, 2-3 MACJC North) has a very aggressive running game that averages 275 yards each game. Reggie Hayes and Jesse Wilson act as a two-headed monster at quarterback with the ability to make big plays.
The Bulldogs came off of a 34-14 victory over Mississippi Delta. They had 421 yards of total offense including 344 rushing yards and 77 passing yards. Hayes led Holmes with 4 carries for 102 yards, two of four passes for 55 yards and four touchdowns. Wilson had 16 carries for 112 yards and a touchdown.
The kickoff is set for 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 25, 2018 at the James E. Miller Stadium. Since the last game has also been named Sophomore Night, 15 graduating sophomores of the CCC Football Team will be recognized.
