Box Score 2 CLARKSDALE, Miss. –– The Tigers dropped both games of a Tuesday doubleheader against the Co-Lin Wolves, falling 14-5 in Game 1 and 3-0 in Game 2.
In Game One, the Tigers took an early lead in the top of the first inning when No. 30Â Trey Washington lifted a sacrifice fly to bring in a run. The Wolves answered in the bottom of the inning with six runs on seven hits to take control. No. 6 Bradley Hanlon delivered the biggest blow with a two-run single.
No. 6 Bryson Ford started on the mound for the Tigers, allowing six runs on eight hits over three innings while striking out four and walking two. No. — Griffith earned the win for the Wolves, surrendering three runs on six hits over 4 2/3 innings with seven strikeouts and three walks.
The Tigers finished with nine hits. No. 30Â Trey Washington led the team with two RBIs, while No. 29 Bryce Williams recorded two hits in four at-bats.
The Wolves totaled 14 hits. No. 2 Avery Griffin went 3-for-3 from the No. 7 spot in the lineup, and No. 15 John Mark Grissom added two hits. Griffin also stole two bases as the Wolves finished with six stolen bases. The Wolves turned one double play.
At the start of Game Two, pitching was strong on both sides, but the Wolves capitalized early in a 3-0 win.
No. 1 Trey Davidson put the Wolves on the board in the first inning with a two-run home run to left field. He added another RBI in the third inning with a double to center field.
No. 8Â Conner Timbs started for the Tigers and recorded 16 outs, allowing three runs on six hits over 5 1/3 innings while walking three. No. 7 Brady White earned the win for the Wolves, tossing five innings of one-hit baseball with seven strikeouts and five walks.
No. 19Â Gabe Colòn recorded the Tigers' only hit, going 1-for-2. No. 5Â Cooper Johnson drew two walks as the Tigers showed patience at the plate with seven total walks.
Defensively, the Tigers turned two double plays and did not commit an error. No. 28 West led the team with five defensive chances.
No. 1 Trey Davidson led the Wolves with three RBIs, going 2-for-3, while No. 2 Avery Griffin also collected two hits. The Wolves stole four bases and committed no errors. No. 24 Bryan Travis recorded a game-high nine defensive chances.
The Baseball Tigers finish the season 12-35 overall and 5-17 for conference.Â
