Chrissy Brown brings passion, leadership, and championship-level experience to Coahoma Community College's women's basketball program. A proven competitor and mentor, she embodies the grit and drive that define Coahoma athletics and serves as an inspiring example of how discipline and determination can transform both a player and a program.
Brown's basketball journey began at Carencro High School in Louisiana (2014–2018), where she quickly established herself as one of the region's top athletes. Known for her work ethic and relentless play on both ends of the court, she earned All-State, All-Metro, and All-Acadiana honors and was named the 2018 4A District MVP. Her standout high school career set the foundation for what would become a decorated collegiate journey. She launched her college career at Neosho Community College in Kansas, where her immediate impact was undeniable. As a freshman, she averaged 11.3 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 3.0 assists per game, showing versatility as a scorer, rebounder, and facilitator.
Her sophomore year was even more impressive — she elevated her game to average 16.8 points, 9.8 rebounds, and 5.1 assists per contest. As one of three team captains, Brown not only delivered statistically but also proved to be a steady voice of leadership on and off the court, guiding her teammates through the challenges of JUCO competition. Her performance at Neosho opened the door to the Division I level, earning her a scholarship to Southeastern Louisiana University. There, Brown became part of a history-making squad. During the 2022–23 season, she played a pivotal role in helping the Lions capture both the Southland Conference Regular Season and Conference Championship. That remarkable run culminated in Southeastern's first-ever NCAA Tournament appearance — a milestone that forever cemented Brown's name in the program's history books. Teammates and coaches alike praised her leadership, toughness, and ability to elevate those around her.
Now stepping into her role as Assistant Coach at Coahoma, Brown is determined to translate her playing success into coaching excellence. She brings with her a championship mindset, firsthand experience at both the junior college and Division I levels, and a commitment to developing the whole athlete. Her philosophy extends beyond wins and losses; she is passionate about building resilient, confident young women who succeed not only on the court but also in the classroom and in life. Working alongside Head Coach Faulkner, Brown is poised to make a significant impact on the program's continued growth. Together, they are cultivating a culture rooted in accountability, discipline, and empowerment. Brown's journey — from high school standout to NCAA Tournament competitor and now collegiate coach — is one of perseverance and purpose, and she uses that story to inspire her players to push beyond limits and embrace challenges with confidence.
For Coahoma Community College, the addition of Chrissy Brown represents more than just an experienced assistant coach. It signals an investment in leadership, mentorship, and excellence. With her on the sidelines, the women's basketball program is not only preparing for success in the upcoming season but also laying the foundation for long-term growth built on character, teamwork, and championship ambition.
