The Coahoma Lady Tigers put on an electrifying performance Tuesday night, defeating Williams Baptist JV with a commanding 91–69 win. From the opening tip, the Lady Tigers set the tone with high-paced offense and relentless defense, building an early lead they never relinquished later on.
Coahoma's sharp ball movement and balanced scoring attack kept Williams Baptist on their heels throughout the night. Multiple players contributed on both ends of the court — pushing the tempo in transition, crashing the boards, and converting key shots to maintain momentum. The Lady Tigers' energy fluctuated a bit in the second quarter which let the Eagles gain the lead for a moment but the Lady Tigers pulled it back and stayed consistent through the last two, especially A'rare Foote scoring with 20+ plus points, closing out the game with confidence and teamwork. With this victory, Coahoma continues to showcase its growth, chemistry, and determination early in the season.
This is what Coach Faulkner had to say about her team from Tuesday's game.
"This group is a lot of fun to coach. We've still got a long way to go, but the growth from summer to now has been tremendous. They're resilient, they work, and they compete with a chip on their shoulder every time they step on the floor. Being able to play 10 makes us stronger, and that depth is going to pay off as the season goes on."
"A'rare was a standout for us in this game, but what I'm most proud of is how her teammates recognized that and elevated her. That's what connected teams do, they lift each other up."
"Next game, it might be someone else, and I know they'll respond the same way. We had moments where our inexperience showed, but it's November. We'll learn, we'll grow, and we'll be better because of it."
