The CCC softball team fell to East Central in a doubleheader on Saturday, March 11, which was played at the Eddie C. Smith Sportsplex. The matchup marked the first series for each team in conference play.
In the opening game, Coahoma's
Talah Hunter singled on the opening at bat of the bottom of the first inning. However, the Lady Tigers didn't record another hit throughout the remainder of the game as East Central won 18-0 in five innings.
In the second game, CCC's
C'Asia Grayer recorded an RBI double in the bottom of the fourth inning as
Ashanti Stephens would score a run. It was Coahoma's only run of the game as ECCC won 12-1 in five innings.
The Lady Tigers are now 5-9 (0-2 MACCC this season); ECCC is 17-8 (2-0 MACCC). Up next for Coahoma is a doubleheader at Northeast Mississippi on Wednesday, March 15.
