The CCC softball team hosted Harris-Stowe State University (JV) on Saturday, Feb. 18. The Lady Tigers won both matchups, while scoring 27 runs throughout the doubleheader.
Coahoma won the opening game 19-9 in five innings. The Lady Tigers tallied an impressive 13 runs in the second inning, while also scoring three runs in both the first and fourth innings.
The Maroon and White registered 10 hits, which included three home runs.
C'Asia Grayer,
Ashanti Stephens, and
Ziay Graves each hit one of the three homers.
CCC did not have a 13-run inning in the second game of the series, but they did register a six-run performance in the bottom of the fourth inning. Coahoma won the game 8-3 in seven innings.
The Lady Tigers tallied nine hits in the game, which included the second home run of the doubleheader for Grayer.
Ta'Kia Jackson was CCC's starting pitcher for the opening game, while
Kaela Pangman was for the second matchup.
The Lady Tigers are now 3-5 (0-0 MACCC) this season, and play at Southwest Tennessee
