Coahoma goes 1-3 in series at North Arkansas College

The CCC softball team played a four-game series at North Arkansas College on Feb. 11-12.

In the opening game, CCC scored a combined nine runs in the second, third, and fourth innings. In the middle of the fourth inning, Coahoma trailed 10-9.

North Arkansas recorded three runs in the bottom of the fourth inning, but the Lady Tigers registered four runs in the top of the sixth inning to tie the game 13-13. North Arkansas won the game 17-16 in eight innings.

Kayla Henderson and Ashanti Stephens each tallied four of CCC's 20 hits in the matchup, while C'Asia Grayer and Talah Turner each recorded three. Stephens hit two home runs in the game, while Grayer tallied one as well.

After falling short in the second game 9-0 and dropping the third game 11-3; the Lady Tigers won the series' final game 6-3. Stephens and Graves each recorded one home run in CCC's lone win of the series.

The Lady Tigers are now 1-5 (0-0 MACCC) this season. Coahoma plays Harris-Stowe State University (JV) in the Lady Tigers' next doubleheader, which is scheduled for Feb. 18, in Clarksdale. The opening matchup of that series is slated to begin at noon.
