The Lady Tigers fall short in doubleheader against NEMCC

The CCC softball team played against Northeast Mississippi on Tuesday, April 26, in a doubleheader. The games were originally scheduled to be played at the Eddie C. Smith Sportsplex, but the series was held at Swift Park in Booneville, MS., with Coahoma as the visiting team.

In the opening matchup, Coahoma trailed 4-0 after two innings of play. The first at bat in the top of the third inning resulted in a single for Coahoma's Kelcee Townsend.

After a strikeout of the next batter; Ziay Graves recorded an RBI double, which resulted in Townsend scoring for CCC. Coahoma trailed 4-1 in the middle of the third inning. NEMCC went on to win the game 10-1 in five innings. Northeast won the second game 18-2 in five innings to sweep the series.

The Lady Tigers are now 6-38 (0-26 MACCC) this season; NEMCC is 27-17 (14-12 MACCC).

Coahoma is scheduled to play at East Central on Friday, April 29.
