Box Score 2 The CCC softball team hosted Mississippi Delta in a two-game series on Tuesday, March 29.
In the opening matchup, Coahoma took the lead in the bottom of the first inning. With two runners on base and two outs; CCC's Ashanti Stephens hit a three-run home run to left field. The Lady Tigers led 3-0 after the opening inning.
Coahoma maintained its 3-0 lead throughout the first three innings of play. However, MDCC tallied 16 runs throughout the remainder of the game as the Lady Trojans won the matchup 16-3 in seven innings.
In the second game, Mississippi Delta led 9-0 in the middle of the fourth inning. The Lady Tigers scored one run in the bottom of the fourth inning as MDCC picked up a 10-1 victory in five innings.
CCC is now 3-19 (0-10 MACCC) this season; the Lady Trojans are 9-19 (4-8 MACCC).
Coahoma's next doubleheader is scheduled to be at No. 17 Mississippi Gulf Coast on Sunday, April 3. The matchups are slated to begin at 3:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m.
