CCC falls in two-game series against No. 8 Pearl River

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 The CCC softball team hosted No. 8 Pearl River on Saturday, March 26, in a doubleheader.

The Lady Tigers trailed 5-0 after three innings in the first matchup of the series. In the top of the fourth inning, PRCC tallied eight runs. Pearl River won the opener 13-0.

In the second game, PRCC led 15-0 going into the middle of the second inning. In the bottom of the inning, Coahoma's Ashanti Stephens recorded a double off the first at bat. CCC's Jaliyah Davis was walked on the ensuing at bat. After two strikeouts on the following at bats, the Lady Tigers' Kaitlyn Chamblee was walked. The bases were loaded, but a ground out ended the inning.

Pearl River tallied eight runs in the top of the third inning, and won the matchup 23-0.

The Lady Tigers are now 3-17 (0-8 MACCC) this season; No. 8 Pearl River is 16-9 (6-2 MACCC).

Coahoma was originally scheduled to face Williams Baptist University's JV team in a two-game series on Monday, March 28, at the Eddie C. Smith Sportsplex. However, that doubleheader has been cancelled. CCC is slated to host Mississippi Delta on Tuesday, March 29.
