Box Score 2 The CCC softball team played at Holmes Community College on Wednesday, March 16, in a doubleheader. The two-game series featured the Lady Tigers' second-straight doubleheader in conference play this season.
In the opening matchup, HCC scored eight runs in the bottom of the first inning. Coahoma had two runners on base with two outs in the top of the second inning, but the Lady Tigers did not score. Holmes went on to win the game 17-0 in five innings. CCC got at least one runner on base in each of the final four innings.
The second game began with a single by Coahoma's
Kelcee Townsend, which was followed by an RBI double from
Michelle Davenport on the next at bat. The Lady Tigers led 1-0 in the middle of the first inning, but trailed 2-1 after the second inning.
In the top of the third inning, CCC's
Ziay Graves hit a three-run home run to give the Lady Tigers a 4-2 lead. Holmes tallied 10 runs in the bottom of the third inning as the Lady Bulldogs went on to win the game 12-4 in five innings.
Coahoma is now 3-11 (0-4 MACCC) this season; the HCC Lady Bulldogs are 18-2 (3-1 MACCC).
