The Lady Tigers fall short in doubleheader against Southwest Tennessee

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 The CCC softball team played at Southwest Tennessee Community College on Thursday, March 10, in a two-game series.

In the opening game, Southwest scored four runs in the bottom of the first inning. The Lady Tigers recorded one run in the top of the second inning as Bailey Edwards was walked with the bases loaded, which allowed Davidia Blockett to score. Going into the third inning; CCC trailed 5-1.

Southwest Tennessee extended its lead by scoring three runs in the bottom of the fourth inning, and went on to win the game 8-1 in five innings.

In the second game of the day, Southwest tallied nine runs in the bottom of the first inning and two runs in the third. In the top of the fourth inning, Coahoma scored off a home run by Ziay Graves. In the fifth inning, Kiarah Byrd scored for CCC off an RBI bunt single by Blockett. Kahlena Hentz also scored for Coahoma in the fifth inning. Southwest Tennessee won the game 11-3 in five innings of play.

The Lady Tigers are now 3-7 this season; Southwest is 9-15.
