Box Score On Thursday night, the CCC women's basketball team hosted Copiah-Lincoln Community College.
Ashanti Backus tallied seven points for Coahoma in the opening quarter, but Co-Lin countered with four made three-pointers. The Lady Tigers trailed 21-11 midway through the first half.
Brayland Ferguson,
Emmia Johnson,
Nakia Cheatham, and
Mercedes Hayes each scored at least three points for CCC in the second quarter. The score was 31-24 in favor of Co-Lin at halftime.
Hayes, Backus,
Rolonda Willis,
Tiana Abron,
Tiara Abron, and
Elishia Wilson each scored for the Lady Tigers in the third quarter of play. Coahoma was outscored by three points in the third quarter. CCC trailed 46-36 with one quarter remaining.
Wilson and Backus combined to score 13 points in the final quarter, but Copiah-Lincoln won the game 63-51.
The Lady Tigers are now 11-5 (5-3 MACCC) this season; Co-Lin is 9-7 (3-4 MACCC).
Coahoma's next game is slated to be at East Mississippi on Monday, Jan. 31. That matchup is scheduled to begin at 6:00 p.m.
