Box Score On Thursday night, the CCC women's basketball team hosted Northwest Mississippi Community College at the Pinnacle.
NWCC made three 3-pointers in the first quarter. Coahoma trailed 14-9 midway through the opening half.
In the second quarter, CCC's
Elishia Wilson scored 10 of Coahoma's 15 points. At halftime, the Lady Rangers led 28-24.
Ashanti Backus and
Jeanee Anderson combined to record 13 points for CCC in the third quarter, while NWCC tallied eight points. With one quarter remaining in the game; Coahoma led 44-36.
The Lady Tigers outscored Northwest Mississippi 20-8 in the final quarter of play. Anderson, Backus, Wilson,
Tiara Abron,
Rolonda Willis,
Nakia Cheatham, and
Mercedes Hayes each scored for Coahoma in the final quarter of play. CCCÂ won the game 66-44.
The Lady Tigers are now 11-3 (5-1 MACCC) this season; NWCC is 9-7 (3-4 MACCC).
Coahoma's next game is scheduled to be on Monday, Jan. 24, at Southwest Mississippi Community College.
