Box Score On Monday, Jan. 17, the CCC women's basketball team played at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College.
Coahoma was outscored by MGCCC 18-12 in the first quarter. The Lady Tigers'
Tiara Abron and
Ashanti Backus combined to score 12 of CCC's 23 points in the second quarter. At halftime, Coahoma led 35-28.
CCC's
Nakia Cheatham recorded eight points in the third quarter, while Backus,
Tiara Abron,
Brayland Ferguson,
Jeanee Anderson, and
Elishia Wilson each scored for Coahoma. Going into the final quarter of play; the score was 61-39 in favor of the Lady Tigers.
Gulf Coast tallied 11 points in the fourth quarter, while Coahoma recorded nine points. CCC won the game 70-50.
Backus, Wilson, Cheatham, and
Tiara Abron each scored in double figures for Coahoma.
The Lady Tigers are now 10-3 (4-1 MACCC) this season; Mississippi Gulf Coast is 11-3 (3-2 MACCC).
The next game for CCC is scheduled to be on Thursday, Jan. 20, against Northwest Mississippi Community College inside of the Pinnacle. That matchup is scheduled to start at 6:00 p.m., and will stream live on
