The Coahoma Lady Tigers are double winners for the season, grabbing both the MACCC North Co-Division title alongside Co-Conference Champions. The Lady Tigers ended their season with a 12-2 record and had an eleven-game winning streak. Head coach Stephanie Murphy is thrilled that the team's hard work paid off. "It's just a blessing, that's the best way I can describe it, to be living in this reality with our girls is an unbelievable feeling," said Murphy.

Their season-high game occurred on March 13, 2021, when they defeated Northeast Mississippi Community College 83-60. On March 8, 2021, Coahoma took the North Division's lead by defeating former leaders Itawamba Community College 56-46 and never looked back as they stormed to the top by consistent wins. Murphy expressed that her team understood how important each win was to remain on top. "I felt like we worked extremely hard to get to this point throughout the season. We worked during the snow break and had to overcome Covid-19 back in October, so we are so excited to finish on an eleven-game winning streak,"

The Lady Tigers were the only team to beat ICC for the 2021 season, and it occurred twice, giving the Indians a 12-2 season record as well. Due to CCC and ICC having the same record, both teams will share the North division winners' titles.

Regarding the State title, Coahoma will share the title with ICC and Jones Community College (South Division) this year as the MACCC did not conclude a state championship game between the winner of the North and South divisions due to adjustments made surrounding the Coronavirus pandemic.

The entire athletics department at CCC is incredibly proud of our Lady Tigers, coached by Stephanie Murphy and assisted by Isaiah Butler

Murphy expressed complete gratification to the players and their parents. "I want to thank the parents and kids for believing in the vision. When we didn't have anything to sell, we said the vision was to turn Coahoma around, and they believed us," said Murphy.

The Lady Tigers will now set their eyes on the Regional 23 tournament set to begin today, March,29,2021. Coahoma will not play in this first round, being at such a high seeded number two, but the second round scheduled for Wednesday, March,31,2021, where they will face off against the winners from today's matchup between Baton Rouge Community College and Southern University Shreveport.

Coach Murphy is urging Tiger Nation to come out and support the Lady Tigers. "We want to pack this home game out while keeping Covid-19 restrictions in mind. Coahoma Women's Basketball can prove that we can consistently win," said Murphy.
