Box Score On Monday night, the CCC women's basketball team hosted Northeast Mississippi Community College at the Pinnacle.
Coahoma trailed NEMCC 17-15 after the first quarter, but held a 28-26 lead at halftime. Eight players scored for CCC in the opening half.
Tiara Abron,
Ashanti Backus, and
Nakia Cheatham combined to score 18 points in the first half for the Lady Tigers.
CCC held a 41-37 lead after the third quarter, but NEMCC's 18 points in the final quarter was enough to force overtime.
With little time remaining in OT, a 3-pointer from
Tiara Abron gave Coahoma a 61-57 lead, but Northeast Mississippi responded on the ensuing possession with a 3-pointer from Calysia Phillips with approximately 13 seconds left in overtime. CCC proceeded to dribble-out the clock, and pick up a 61-60 victory in OT.
Coahoma is now 4-0 this season; NEMCC is 2-3.
The next game for the CCC Lady Tigers is on Thursday, Nov. 18, at 5:30 p.m. against Itawamba inside of the Pinnacle.
