On Thursday night, the No. 15 Coahoma Community College Tigers traveled to Scooba, Mississippi to face the No. 5 East Mississippi Community College Lions.
The Tigers entered the matchup having won three of their previous four games. In that span, they defeated Itawamba, Mississippi Delta, and Holmes. The loss in that stretch of games occurred against Northwest Mississippi Community College.
The matchup against the Lions marked the third away game of the season for CCC. The Tigers entered with a 2-0 record in such games this season.
EMCC began the game by scoring three touchdowns in the opening quarter. The Lions followed that up with three more touchdowns in the second quarter. At halftime, East Mississippi led 42-0.
With the score 45-0 in the third quarter, Coahoma quarterback
Kennique Bonner-Steward connected with
KeAundre McCullough on a 60-yard screen pass for a CCC touchdown. The final score was 52-6 in favor of the Lions.
Coahoma is now 4-3 (3-2 North) and EMCC is now 7-0 (5-0 North) on the season.
The Tigers' next game will be on Thursday, Oct. 21, against Northeast Mississippi Community College. It will be Sophomore Night at James E. Miller Stadium. The matchup is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m., and will broadcast live at
