Former Tiger Dr. Joseph Webb Inducted Into MACJC Hall Of Fame

CCC basketball star earns prestigious induction into Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges Hall

RAYMOND — Coahoma Commnunity College, in conjunction with the Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges, is proud to announce the induction of former Tiger basketball star Dr. Joseph Webb into the MACJC Hall of Fame Tuesday night in Raymond, Mississippi. 

Webb played basketball at Coahoma from 1971-73. He was the recipient of the Tigers' Most Improved Player Award during his freshman campaign. During his sophomore year, Webb turned in one of the most legendary seasons in Coahoma history, averaging a triple-double of 22 points, 15 rebounds and 10 blocked shots per game. He participated in the regional playoffs and was selected as MVP of the regional tournament.

Currently, Webb is CEO of Nashville General Hospital at Meharry, the primary teaching hospital of Meharry Medical College in Nashville, Tennesee. Dr. Webb joined NGH in January 2015, bringing 30 years of proven expertise in for-profit and not-for-profuit healthcare organizations. He most recently served as COO for Common Table Health Alliance in Memphis, Tennessee.

Branded as a visionary and transformational leader, Dr. Webb has demonstrated success as both a fiscal and operational change agent. His prior experience also includes COO of Northwest Mississippi Regional Medical Center in Clarksdale, Mississippi. 

Dr. Webb obtained his Doctorate of Science in Health Services Administration and his Master of Science in Hospital and Health Services Administration from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He also holds a Bachelor's degree and a Master's degree in Health and Physical Education from Tennessee State University.
