(Clarksdale, Mississippi) — Congratulations to former head coach Terrence Metcalf, who has been officially inducted into the 2025 National College Football Hall of Fame, adding another extraordinary honor to an already legendary football career.
Metcalf's rise to greatness began in Clarksdale, Mississippi, where he earned All-American honors at Clarksdale High School. He continued his stellar career at the University of Mississippi, becoming an All-American and All-SEC offensive lineman for Ole Miss from 1997 to 2001, establishing himself as one of the conference's most respected leaders.
In 2002, Metcalf was drafted into the NFL and went on to play seven seasons with the Chicago Bears, appearing in 78 games and making 28 starts. His professional career included a memorable run to Super Bowl XLI in 2006. While his time in the NFL was impressive, it was his college legacy—marked by dominance, discipline, and leadership—that ultimately secured his place among football's immortals.
Some of the most meaningful chapters of Metcalf's journey began after his playing days ended, when he returned home to Mississippi to invest in the next generation of athletes. He began coaching in 2011, with his first MACCC experience coming from 2016 to 2019 as an assistant coach at Pearl River Community College. In 2017, Metcalf received one of the Southeastern Conference's highest honors when he was inducted into the SEC Legends Program, recognizing his outstanding collegiate career and lasting impact on the game. His coaching path later led him back to Clarksdale and Coahoma Community College, where he served as offensive line coach and later head coach of the Coahoma Tigers during the 2022–2023 seasons.
During his tenure at Coahoma, Metcalf left a lasting impact on the program, elevating its visibility and inspiring countless young athletes. His influence has reached far beyond the field, including shaping the career of his son, DK Metcalf, who currently plays in the NFL for the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Already a member of both the Mississippi Sports Hall of Fame and the Ole Miss Athletics Hall of Fame, Terrence Metcalf now adds National Football Hall of Fame inductee to his remarkable list of achievements. A true role model, Metcalf continues to inspire young athletes to pursue excellence—both on and off the field.
