CLARKSDALE –Coahoma Community College has faced challenges all season long, especially on the road. Head Coach Michael Stringer scheduled road games early in the season to have his team battle tested. The Mighty Tigers (2-6) have to step their game up against undefeated Copiah-Lincoln Community College.
Co-Lin (6-0) held Coahoma to their worst output of the season in a 69-49 victory on Nov. 9, 2017. The Tigers shot 28.6 percent (20-70) for the game, including 5 of 12 from the free throw line and 4 of 25 on three point attempts. Malik Bailey led Coahoma with 14 points and seven rebounds. Tarquise Harris scored 12 points. Robert Boyd scored 10 points, grabbed four rebounds, and had two assists.
Stringer is looking for Bailey and Harris to step up as leaders. DaQuon Morris is emerging as one of the top players. He's averaging 13 points and six rebounds a game. "We're looking for leadership from our sophomores to take pressure off the freshmen," said Stringer. "We depend on our freshmen so much. We've played eight games so far and these freshmen are veterans now."
Co-Lin is led by the tandem of Jonathan Floyd, Darrian Wilson, and Youry White. White led the Wolves with 16 points, 15 rebounds, and two assists in the first meeting vs Coahoma. Floyd scored nine points and three assists.
The Wolves are coming off an 88-78 victory over Mississippi Delta Community College. Floyd led Co-lin with 22 points. Wilson scored 17 points. White had 10 points and 11 rebounds.

Coahoma is looking to get a big road win before division play begins. "This win will show that we can play against anybody," said Stringer. "Co-lin is undefeated and they are not going to give us anything. We have to take what we want."
