Box Score 2 NICEVILLE, Florida - The CCC Basketball Lady Tigers fell to Northwest Florida State and Motlow State at the Northwest Florida State Invitational/Quality Inn Classic this weekend despite strong play from freshman Kayla Rogers. The team returns to action tonight in The Pinnacle at 6 pm vs. Co-Lin.
Rogers was magnificent in the Lady Tigers' Niceville opener Saturday, going off for 16 points on 8 of 8 shooting from the field and snaring 7 rebounds. The Lady Tigers got out to an 18-17 lead at the end of the 1st quarter, but Pensacola came roaring to life in the 2nd, opening a sizeable advantage on the way to a 106-51 victory. Pensacola was led by guard Te'Sheanne Armstrong, who netted 23 points.
The Lady Tigers closed their time in Niceville by taking on the home team, #12 Northwest Florida. The Lady Raiders took the contest 89-47 despite another strong showing from Rogers, who finished with 15 points and 4 boards. Dana Brown and Diamond Love each chipped in 8 points in the effort. Northwest was led by Jasmine Rhodes, who finished with 18 points.Â
