CLARKSDALE—CCC is kicking off its basketball homecoming this week and invites all students, staff, and fans to join us in the festivities!
The celebrations will get under way Wednesday with an activities night presented by the Division of Enrollment and Student Services. The evening will feature games, prizes, and plenty of fun from 6:30 PM to 9:30 PM in the lobby of the Zee A. Barron Student Union.
Thursday night, the Lady Tigers and Tigers take on East Missisippi CC basketball in the Pinnacle. The ladies will tipoff at 6 PM and the men will get going at 8 PM. The game will be a "white-out the gym" night— fans are encouraged to wear white shirts in support of CCC.
Saturday will be the marquee events, with the homecoming games that afternoon in the Pinnacle. CCC will take on Southern University-Shreveport, with (ladies starting at 1 pm, men squaring off at 3 pm) in what should be a pair of hotly-contested rematches vs. the Port City Jags.
The in-game and between-game programs for Saturday are booked solid with homecoming events. Heidelberg Magnet Elementary School, the Delta Pearls and Gents, and the Diamonette Dynasty Dance Team are all scheduled to put on dance performances throughout the afternoon. Mr. and Ms. CCC Basketball will be announced between games, and halftime of the men's game will feature a very special Hall of Fame induction ceremony for CCC legends Carla Lucas-Whitfield and Charles Presley.
Students, staff, and community members are all highly encouraged to attend the festivities. Come show your support and appreciation for your 2014-15 Tiger and Lady Tiger basketball teams!
