Box Score The CCC men's basketball team played at East Mississippi on Monday night. It was a tough matchup for the Tigers as EMCC entered the game with an undefeated 6-0 record in home games this season.
Coahoma's
Kei Johnson tallied 12 points in the first half, which led the Tigers in scoring.
Ben Galmore, a guard from Clarksdale, MS., recorded three 3-pointers en route to scoring 11 points in the first half.
At halftime, the Tigers held a 33-29 lead over the talented Lions.
Johnson registered 15 points in the second half, which led all scorers. He finished the game with 27 points, which also led all scorers. The performance marked his sixth game of the season with at least 25 points.
In the second half, the Tigers tallied 25 points as East Mississippi won the game 67-58.
Galmore was Coahoma's second-leading scorer with 14 points, which included four 3-pointers.
Amarion Hoggan and
O'zhell Jackson each tallied six points for CCC, while
Jo Perez and
Kavan Wooten also scored for Coahoma.
The Tigers are now 10-8 (3-5 MACCC) this season; EMCC is 16-3 (7-2 MACCC).
CCC's next game is slated for Thursday, Jan. 9, against Holmes at the Pinnacle. That matchup will start at 6:00 p.m.
