Box Score The 11th-seeded CCC men's basketball team won 71-69 at sixth-seeded Southwest Mississippi on Monday night in the 2023 NJCAA DI Region 23 Men's Basketball Tournament.

With the victory, CCC has advanced the quarterfinals of the tournament. Coahoma will face three-seeded Itawamba in the next round.

As for Monday's matchup, Jaqai Murray led Coahoma in scoring with 20 points. Amarion Hoggan registered 19 points, which included 11 in the opening half.

O'zhell Jackson also scored in double figures for Coahoma. Jackson finished the game with 13 points. Ben Galmore tallied seven points in the first half to go along with a two-point field goal in the second half.

Kei Johnson scored seven points, while Jo Perez added three for the Triple C.

The Tigers are now 14-11 (6-8 MACCC) this season; SMCC is 16-11 (9-5 MACCC).

While it isn't over yet, the 2022-23 campaign has been one to remember for the CCC's men's basketball program. In addition to other notable accomplishments, the Tigers started the season 7-2 and have tallied a double-digit number of wins for the first time in at least the past decade.
