Coahoma wins by 16 points on Sophomore Night

Box Score The CCC women's basketball team picked up a 59-43 victory on Sophomore Night over Northeast Mississippi.

Coahoma outscored Northeast 19-8 in the second quarter to lead 29-18 at halftime. The Maroon and White scored 19 points in the third quarter en route to the 16-point victory.

CCC was led in scoring by Tiara Abron, who scored 17 points to go along with six rebounds, five assists, and two steals.

Janiya Jones tallied 14 points for the Maroon and White, which included four 3-pointers. Jones also tallied nine rebounds, five assists, and four steals. Forward Elishia Wilson contributed nine points, 11 rebounds, and two steals.

Jamyia Bowen scored eight points, while also registering six rebounds and three blocks. Tiana Abron, Mackenzie Carter, and Jamea Smith also scored for CCC.

The CCC Lady Tigers are now 12-8 (8-5 MACCC) this season; NEMCC is 7-16 (3-10 MACCC).

Coahoma closes out the regular season with a matchup on Thursday, Feb. 23, at Pearl River. That matchup is slated to start at 6:00 p.m.
