Box Score The CCC men's basketball team defeated Northwest Mississippi 77-71 on Thursday night.
With the victory, Coahoma clinches an undefeated 2-0 record against NWCC in the 2022-23 regular season. The win also provided CCC with its 10th of the season. Based on the school's records; the Tigers have not swept NWCC in the regular season or recorded a 10-win campaign in at least the past 10 seasons.
In last night's game, five players scored in double figures for Coahoma. Kei Johnson led the team in scoring with 18 points, while contributing seven rebounds and four blocks.
Amarion Hoggan and Jaqai Murray each tallied 12 for CCC, which tied for second on the team.
O'zhell Jackson tallied his 12th double-double of the season as he recorded 11 points, 14 rebounds, seven assists, and two blocks. Dontae Prescott tallied 10 points, which included three field goals.
Jo Perez contributed eight points, while Ben Galmore accounted for six points off two 3-pointers.
The Tigers are now 10-6 (3-3 MACCC) this season; NWCC is 5-11 (3-4 MACCC).
Coahoma's next game is scheduled for Monday, Jan. 30, at Southwest Mississippi. That matchup is slated to begin at 6:00 p.m.
